Location: Chester
Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Leave)
Salary: £32,000 - £34,000
Hours: Full time - 36.5 hours per week
Working Arrangements: Flexible and hybrid working offered

Our client, a prestigious public sector organization based in Chester, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Advisor to cover a period of maternity leave.
Reporting to an HR Business Partner, the Senior HR Advisor will support the wider HR team and collaborate with various stakeholders, providing advice and coaching on a broad range of generalist HR duties, including Employee Relations case work, HR MI, and Change Management.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide proactive and professional HR advice on various people issues, such as talent acquisition, performance management, reward and recognition, learning and development, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and health and wellbeing.
- Represent the HR function at disciplinary and grievance hearings.
- Assist HR Business Partners in developing recruitment and succession plans.
- Support HR Business Partners in coordinating work of HR Advisers and Administrators, offering coaching and guidance.
- Prepare employment letters, contracts, and liaise with Payroll on contractual changes.
- Conduct Health Management Review meetings.
- Ensure HR data accuracy in collaboration with the MIS team to support stakeholder decision-making.
- Contribute to organization-wide projects and policies to improve HR practices.
- Advise managers and participate in organizational restructuring exercises.
Key requirements:
- Experience as an HR generalist, ideally at Advisor level or similar.
- Confidence and experience in handling complex Employee Relations cases.
- Experience working with Trade Unions is advantageous but not essential.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Employment Law legislation.
- Level 7 CIPD qualification or relevant equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills to engage demanding stakeholders and challenge the status quo.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider HR team.
