Senior Information Governance Officer role at John Goddard Associates – Kent, hybrid.

Day rate: circa £230 (via umbrella) | Location: Kent (hybrid) | Duration: 3 months (extensions possible)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality advice on IG and Data Protection matters across the organisation and partner authorities
• Deputise for the Data Protection Officer as required
• Manage IG assessments, audits, and privacy risk evaluations
• Lead on the development of Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs) for all service areas
• Create and implement IG standards, processes, and best practices
• Provide guidance to Information Asset Owners and Data Protection Champions
• Handle complex IG matters, including data breaches and complaints

What We\'re Looking For

• Law degree or equivalent qualification in GDPR (essential)
• Strong knowledge of UK data protection and FOI legislation
• Experience within a public sector IG function
• Skilled in managing DPIAs, RoPAs, and compliance audits
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Ability to work across services with a proactive and collaborative approach
