Senior Infrastructure Consultant - remote (UK & qualification for SC clearance required)

Overview

#TeamCandour are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Infrastructure Consultant to join a thriving & multi-award winning consultancy & solutions provider to work on a remote basis.

This is a client facing consultancy position so as you'd expect, occasional travel to client sites UK wide will form part of your responsibilities and as you'd expect, our client will be focused on applicants from this kind of background rather than internal support positions. Cloud experience is a nice to have but the focus for this one is very much around on-prem solutions, network design/installation & VMware solutions.

You will need outstanding communication skills as you'd expect from a client facing position as well as demonstrable presales experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise networking solutions, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and security.
• Deploy and configure routing, switching, and firewall technologies across multiple vendor platforms.
• Deliver high-availability and disaster recovery network designs.
• Implement and manage server infrastructures across Windows and Unix environments.
• Deploy and support storage and backup solutions, including SAN and replication technologies.
• Deliver hypervisor solutions (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Local) and associated virtual networking.
• Lead large-scale infrastructure migrations and transformation projects.
• Collaborate with clients to present technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in enterprise networking, server deployment, and storage solutions.
• A strong background in routing, switching, firewall, and wireless technologies across multiple vendors.
• Proven ability to design, document, and deliver complex network and infrastructure architectures.
• Experience leading infrastructure projects, migrations, and transformation programmes.
• Client-facing consulting skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, VMware VCP, or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• The ability to manage multiple client engagements independently.
• Flexibility to travel to client sites when required.
• Eligibility for SC clearance (must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years).

Day-to-Day

• Collaborating with clients to understand their unique IT challenges and objectives.
• Designing and implementing robust infrastructure solutions tailored to client needs.
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex networking and infrastructure issues.
• Leading project teams to deliver seamless migrations and transformations.
• Staying ahead of the curve by researching and adopting the latest technologies.
• Documenting and presenting solutions to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
