At Derbyshire County Council, we’re looking for a Senior Integrated Transport Officer to play a supporting role in shaping and delivering our local transport planning ambitions.

Key aspects of this role also include:

• Provide expert technical advice on transport policy and planning issues.
• Support the development and review of the Local Transport Plan and related investment strategies.
• Produce reports, assessments, and funding applications that inform and enable policy delivery.
• Evaluate the environmental, social, and economic impacts of transport proposals and help develop mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with the East Midlands Combined County Authority and other partners to support regional strategy development.
• Engage with stakeholders, elected members, and local communities, contributing to public consultations and strategic discussions.
• Supervise and support junior officers, technicians, and apprentices within the team.

What skills/experience will you need?

• Practical experience in areas such as transport policy, funding regimes, environmental assessment, or land use planning.
• A relevant technical qualification, or extensive equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
• The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and support others.
• A commitment to delivering inclusive, accessible, and environmentally responsible transport outcomes.
