As a Senior Manager, Human Resources, you will play a critical leadership role within our HR organization, responsible for overseeing HR business partnering, employee relations and HR operations enterprise-wide. You will develop and lead a high-performing team, build trusted relationships with employees and leaders at all levels, and drive HR initiatives that align with business goals and enhance employee engagement, development, and performance.

In this role, you will:

Serve as a liaison between the HR Centers of Expertise (CoEs) and business leaders, ensuring the alignment of people strategies with business objectives, driving operational and process excellence, mitigating risk through compliant practices, and fostering a fair and inclusive work environment. You will act as a trusted advisor and coach to the leadership team, providing guidance and support on people-related issues, strategy and operations.

HR Business Partnering

  • Lead and mentor a team of HR Business Partners aligned to local/national operating groups and functions, providing guidance, coaching, support and development opportunities; Promote collaboration and ensure a high degree of value for multiple stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders at all levels, providing counsel on talent planning, performance management, people-related issues and imperatives. Ensure specialized expertise is provided for targeted problems.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand national and local objectives and align HR strategies and initiatives that support the achievement of those objectives.
  • Directly support National Vice Presidents (NVPs) and one or more operating groups.
  • Partner with HR CoEs todevelop and execute on HR strategies that support company objectives and foster a positive organizational culture.
  • Ensure HR Business Partners are maximizing capability, providing maximum value to stakeholders, and are enabled to be successful in supporting leaders with insight, domain expertise and day-to-day guidance needed to achieve business and HR objectives.
  • Lead change management efforts to support organizational transformations and ensure smooth transitions.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee the administration and continuous improvement of core HR processes (e.g., offboarding, data integrity).
  • Maintain a current knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resource management and employment law.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies; Monitor legislative changes and mitigate risk.
  • Leverage available and relevant data sources to identify issues and opportunities, providing insight and recommendations to inform decision-making.
  • Analyze people-related data and metrics to identify trends, provide insights, and recommend improvements.

Employee Relations

  • Mature and evolve the Employee Relations function by digitizing processes, training leaders, and leveraging decision data that includes macro level insights and predictive analytics.
  • Guide, mentor and partner with the Employee Relations Manager to deepen capability while ensuring a fair and consistent approach to resolving issues and promoting a harmonious work environment.
  • Act as an escalation point for performance-related and/or sensitive workplace issues or investigations, coach HR BPs and leaders on conflict resolution and appropriate action steps.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation on HR policies and procedures.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) in Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and Learning & Talent Development to execute strategy, implement programs, drive process improvement and deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Support change management efforts and other strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics and confidentiality, and foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive human resources experience, including people management and oversight of HR business partnering and employee relations functions.
  • Experience supporting and influencing leaders at all levels.
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to lead through influence and build long-term relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of employees and leaders.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and be agile as priorities change within the business and across the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and solve complex problems/situations, while working independently or as a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge, understanding and application of federal and state employment regulations.
  • Ability to develop and deliver a professional presentation to all levels of employees and leaders.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate training to diverse employee groups.
  • Working knowledge of other key HR functions with the ability to combine that knowledge to solve business problems strategically and holistically.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in HR technology (e.g., HRIS/HCMS), productivity and collaboration applications and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Change management skills are preferred, as is experience managing a geographically distributed, remote team.
  • Prior experience in consulting or the professional services industry is preferred.
