Opportunity

Leading engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Bristol, Berkshire or Cumbria. This permanent position offers hybrid working and the chance to work on complex, high-profile projects in a highly regulated sector. We would also welcome applications from industries: defence, oil and gas, energy, process engineering, and manufacturing.

Role

This role would suit candidates working in these roles: Mechanical Design Engineer, Lead Mechanical Engineer, Project Engineer, Mechanical Systems Engineer, Design Team Leader, Plant Layout Engineer, Principal Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Project Manager, Senior Design Engineer, or Engineering Team Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver mechanical engineering activities across a range of projects.
  • Apply engineering processes and technical knowledge to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering documentation including calculations, drawings, and reports.
  • Identify and manage risks, contributing to project safety assessments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • HNC/HND or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong experience delivering engineering tasks of varying complexity.
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Nuclear experience is not essential - applications from other sectors are welcome.
