COMPANY PROFILE
Progressive global €1bn (UK €100m) food business with a combination of brand and own-label products across a number of food categories. The business is much admired for having a highly positive investment-for-growth strategy, led by a dynamic and driven management leadership team who are looking to achieve further market growth.
As part of their business strategy, they are now looking to attract a highly talented, commercially minded Senior National Account Manager to directly manage two major customers, as well as inspire and lead a NAM who manages a portfolio of the second-tier grocery retail multiples.
THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director this is a wide reaching and highly interesting commercial role with a rare breadth of direct major customer management, team leadership and product category strategy responsibilities including,
- Direct control of Sainsbury & Asda accounts with trading strategy and P&L responsibility
- Lead a NAM who manages Morrisons, Co-op, M&S-Ocado and Waitrose
- Product category commercial team leadership responsibility
The position is focused on driving further profitable sales growth through building effective multi contact customer relationships, driving new product listings and distribution, and leading their creative NPD innovation activities towards successful implementation.
This balanced and growing c£30m account portfolio including brands and own label plus a high level of well invested, brand led innovations which provides a rare and attractive platform to both deliver the goods and progress your commercial capabilities.
ABOUT YOU
You’re ambitious, commercially astute, driven, highly personable and are now looking to step up your NAM or SNAM experience into a broader role where you can make a real difference with major customers, influencing the strategic agenda internally and lead a motivated NAM with P&L responsibility.
You have shaped your FMCG commercial career up into managing any of the top 4 GRM accounts which MUST include own label added value food or drink product management (branded experience also most welcome!)with a demonstratable track record of profitable sales growth. We would love to hear about your proudest achievements!
You are comfortable with major retail customer P&L dynamics, negotiating complex pricing/terms and promotional activities, building effective and trusted relationships and are adept in managing strategic NPD processes from concept to launch.
You possess a natural, open and enthusiastic leadership style with a focus on developing colleague skills and capabilities, and although not essential, you may already have experience of leading a team within national accounts.
