Overview

Senior National Account Manager — UK, home based role with regular travel and occasional stay away from home. Salary: £55,000-£60,000 depending on experience plus incentive bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a strategic vision to maximize sales performance and achieve business objectives for John Lewis.
  • Lead and manage a field based team of Business Account Managers and Skin Therapists to ensure excellence in activations, customer service, training, merchandising, and operations.
  • Sales and Profit Growth: drive growth and success in store and online, achieve sales goals and KPIs, manage budget and P&L, collaborate with retail partners on growth strategies, lead business expansion and new store openings, ensure adequate stock levels and champion team incentives.
  • Retail Partnerships: build strong relationships with retail partners, lead strategy meetings and create dynamic joint business plans, negotiate deals and maximize ROI.
  • Brand Presence: empower teams to deliver exceptional customer service and brand knowledge, optimize online brand presence, drive customer acquisition and retention through digital initiatives, create standout brand activations and moments, maintain high retail and visual merchandising standards, empower staff in non-staffed doors to drive the brand confidently.
  • Team Development: guide and mentor field team staff, drive staff productivity and manage incentive structures, support recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Policy Adherence: ensure compliance with policies and procedures, promote health and safety practices.

Job Requirements

  • Key Qualities: Excellent communication and business judgment; strong relationship-building and negotiation skills; experience in digital marketing; highly organized, creative thinker with a team-focused attitude; flexible, with occasional travel and weekend work.
  • Education and Experience: Proficiency in Word, Excel, Office 365, and PowerPoint; extensive experience in leading digital and physical retail marketing initiatives and joint business plans; proficiency in Adaptive Insights and Power BI is strongly preferred, with the ability to apply insights for data-driven decision making and actions; proven track record in strategic budgeting, P&L management, and financial forecasting at a senior level; 5-7 years of experience in account management within the retail sector, with demonstrated success in managing large national accounts, driving growth, and leading cross-functional teams.
