Role Definition
We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Offshore Structures, to join the Offshore Structures team. The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Follow-up and review of technical documentation and analyses produced by other Contractors, especially for decommissioning projects.
- Setting and defining the design approach and review of structural analyses and technical documentation produced by an internal team.
- Executing structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
- Studying and defining the best technical solutions for offshore structures (both substructures and topsides) during various design stages (feasibility, FEED, detailed design).
- Preparing sketch drawings and concept and feasibility studies.
- Ensuring compliance with structural design standards and correct application of Company HSEQ policies.
- Being aware of marine operations and naval interfaces with structural design.
- Collaborating with immediate and wider teams during task execution.
- Liaising with other disciplines during project execution for the execution of assigned tasks.
- Preparing and reviewing all technical documentation related to Structural Design activities during different project phases, such as Conceptual Study, FEED, Tender, Contract package, detailed engineering, operations, decommissioning.
- Reviewing structural aspects of Bidder Call for Tender & Selection for EPC, T&I, Platform Decommissioning (qualifications, clarifications, recommendations, etc.).
- Reviewing and approving FEED, Tender, and Detailed Engineering performed by Contractors for structural aspects.
Qualification
- Extensive experience in analyses and design of offshore structures, in accordance with ISO 19000 series, API RP2A, AISC, DNV codes.
- Ability to create and verify FEM models of fixed offshore structures, e.g., jacket and topside, for in-place and temporary conditions.
- Experience in the design of foundation systems, including foundation piles and mud mats.
- Experience in structural detail design related to the decommissioning of offshore platforms.
- Knowledge of removal procedures, applicable codes, and specific issues related to platform removal activities.
- Experience in reviewing structural documentation prepared by other Contractors, especially for decommissioning projects.
- Experience in nonlinear analyses, blast, dropped objects, impact, redundancy, pushover analyses.
- Experience in re-design and assessment of brownfield structures, life extension, reliability analyses, with a problem-solving attitude and capacity to make critical decisions.
- Familiarity with offshore structural materials, fabrication, and installation aspects.
- Experience with floater design.
- Experience in defining tender documentation for offshore structures.
- Ability to analyze and independently recommend solutions to complex problems.
- Capability to suggest innovative solutions.
- Proactive decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with other disciplines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering (focused on structures).
- Proficiency in software such as DNVGL SESAM Suite, USFOS, ANSYS, SACS, STAAD.
- Proven experience in designing structures across all project phases, including feasibility, FEED, detailed engineering, operations, and platform removal.
Conditions
Our SmartWorking policy allows personnel to work up to 12 days per month from home or a similar secure location, even during leave, offering around 60% remote work flexibility.
