Senior or Principal EMC Engineer – Pitstone, Tring, Hertfordshire

The UK Electrical & Power team designs and develops generators, power conversion, distribution and control systems, and electric motors for aircraft propulsion.
Responsibilities
Responsible for EMC test projects, ensuring completion of development and qualification test milestones.
Perform EMC tests against internal and external customer specifications, documenting results accurately.
Liaise directly with internal customers across Safran to coordinate EMC test and preparation activities.
Identify the most efficient equipment required to meet end‑user requirements.
Update internal and external customers regularly during work package activities.
Mentor trainee engineers to perform tests independently, ensuring quality and meeting ISO 17025 & Safran quality requirements.
Define, develop and validate alternative test techniques and methods to improve test duration, accuracy and other improvements.
Desirable Experience
HNC or equivalent in relevant Engineering Qualifications or higher.
Detailed understanding of EMC specifications and standards.
High level of EMC test experience and technical knowledge regarding aerospace and military test specifications.
Experience configuring EMC test equipment, including writing EMC test equipment software drivers.
Ability to write and produce EMC test plans and reports.
Knowledge of GPIB drivers and ability to configure instrument drivers.
Knowledge of data acquisition systems and use (preferably DEWESoft).
Configuration of ARINC 429 / MIL 1553 decoders.
Evidence of written English at interview stage.
