Senior Payroll Specialist with SAP Support

Location: Fully remote with visits to the office in Havant, Hampshire once a month
Contract: Fixed term until 31 October 2026
Salary: £54,000 to £56,000

A recruitment partnership is working with an established organisation seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join their Enterprise Business Services team on a fixed term contract until October 2026. This role offers a blend of operational payroll responsibilities alongside key support for a major HR and payroll system transition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee accurate processing of UK payrolls using Oracle, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls
  • Process payroll inputs including starters, leavers, statutory payments, tax, national insurance, pensions, and adjustments
  • Conduct secondary payroll reviews and provide guidance to junior team members
  • Manage off-cycle payments, handle complex payroll queries and HMRC correspondence
  • Lead year-end payroll activities including P60s and PAYE Settlement Agreements
  • Support audit readiness and maintain accurate payroll records
  • Assist in payroll reporting, training, and process improvements
  • Contribute to the UK Payroll Scorecard and stock vesting activities

Project Support – SAP SuccessFactors Transition

  • Support the transition from Oracle to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, including testing, data validation and payroll execution using Payroll Control Centre (PCC)
  • Collaborate with consultants to ensure system configuration meets business needs
  • Develop training materials and deliver demonstrations to internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in full-cycle UK payroll operations with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Proven hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors and Employee Central Payroll (ECP)
  • Familiarity with Payroll Control Centre (PCC) processes and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory payments
  • High attention to detail with excellent analytical skills, including advanced Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to support and guide colleagues
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Typically six or more years of payroll experience (four years plus a Master’s degree)
  • BPSS clearance required

This is a fixed term role based in Havant with a flexible working schedule. Occasional office attendance is expected. Due to the nature of work at the client’s site, these vacancies are only open to British Citizens who hold BPSS clearance or can obtain it. This is a fixed term role.
