About the Job

Are you ready to make our people operations function faster, more reliable, and more innovative, strengthening the foundation of an exceptional employee experience? We’re looking for a Senior People Operations Partner to join us at Thinkific.

We’re looking for a Senior People Operations Partner to lead and elevate our People Operations function, driving operational excellence and a consistent employee experience across Canada, the US, and our global teams. Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards and People Operations, you’ll be the go-to person for the end-to-end employee lifecycle, compliance, and the systems and processes that power our People function. In this role, you’ll also collaborate closely with our Office & People Operations Coordinator to ensure smooth day-to-day execution and a connected overall employee experience.

This role offers autonomy to streamline existing processes and modernize how we work, leveraging technology and automation, including AI, while also leading key projects that shape the future of our People department. This is a role for someone who wants to build, improve, and own. We’re looking for someone passionate about people, who thrives on driving efficiency and accuracy, and who cares deeply about creating a scalable and positive employee experience worldwide.

Your goal will be to act as the owner of all core People processes, ensuring they are scalable, compliant, and supportive of our growth.

Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:

  • Employee Lifecycle: Own and improve the full employee journey, from onboarding to offboarding, including promotions, transfers, leaves, and global mobility. Ensure consistent and supportive experiences at every stage.
  • Compliance & Policy: Ensure employment compliance across Canada, the US, and future regions. Maintain up-to-date employment agreements, templates, and policies. Play a key role with requirements such as pay transparency, pay equity reporting, data privacy, and public company compliance (CSOX, ITGC).
  • Employee Relations Advisory: Partner with People Business Partners to provide guidance on employee relations cases, advise on interpreting policies and employment laws, and ensure consistent application.
  • People Systems & Data: Optimize People systems (BambooHR, Lattice, Culture Amp, Greenhouse, Deel), ensuring accuracy, smooth integrations, and actionable reporting.
  • Global Partnerships: Oversee relationships with global employment partners and EORs to deliver compliant, seamless experiences for global team members.
  • Immigration & Mobility: Serve as the main point of contact for immigration and mobility processes. Manage documentation, ensure compliance, and partner with PBPs to support employees through international moves, visa processes, and related transitions.
  • Process Improvement & Knowledge Sharing: Design scalable, well-documented processes that reduce friction and improve consistency. Build and maintain resources (like knowledge bases and guides).
  • Compensation & Benefits Support: Work closely with Total Rewards, Payroll, and vendors to ensure smooth benefits administration, including enrollments, renewals, changes, communication, and issue resolution for employees. Support compensation programs such as equity grants, salary changes, and bonus cycles, and assist with related materials and communications.
  • Program Management: Support and help drive core People programs, including performance reviews, compensation and equity cycles, and engagement surveys.
  • Employee Experience & Engagement: Partner with the People team and other groups to design initiatives that build belonging and strengthen engagement. Lead engagement survey planning and reporting, and help find actionable improvements.
  • Technology & Automation: Identify and implement opportunities to use technology and automation, including AI, to streamline People processes, reduce manual work, and improve data quality and efficiency.

The person we have in mind likely:

  • Has 5+ years of progressive experience in People Operations or related functions, with deep knowledge of core People processes across the employee lifecycle.
  • Has experience supporting operations in Canada and the US, with the ability to navigate complex compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Advanced knowledge of Canadian employment law is a must-have.
  • Possesses expertise in People technology and data analytics, with hands-on experience using HRIS tools such as BambooHR, Workday, or similar systems to drive operational efficiency and data-driven decisions.
  • Has a proven track record of driving continuous improvement in People processes, systems, and employee experience, with a passion for finding better ways of working.
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

Compensation

The recruitment compensation range for this position is $90,700 – $113,400 – $136,100 CAD.
