This role is with The Energy unit, which provides engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle in sectors such as hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution networks.Overview of the role: We are recruiting Senior Piping Engineers to join our Nuclear, Defence and Civil division. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects in the defence and nuclear new-build sectors and to develop your career within an organisation committed to professional growth.Key Responsibilities and DutiesAct as design co-ordinator, managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and collaborating with Project Managers and discipline Team LeadersPrepare detailed design reports, specifications, and component datasheetsPerform engineering calculations and review/approve engineering reports, calculations, and drawingsProvide guidance to mechanical designers on plant layout and component specificationsLiaise with other engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors to ensure smooth project executionLead and participate in design co-ordination meetings, both internally and externallyProvide procurement and construction support for ongoing projectsMaintain accurate project documentation and ensure version controlOffer professional advice on mechanical engineering matters to internal and external clientsContinuously develop professional knowledge and skills to stay ahead in the fieldEnsure compliance with corporate health, safety, environmental, and quality standardsTravel may be required within the UK or abroad for site visits and meetingsCandidate SpecificationEssentialChartered status with the IMechE or other relevant professional body (or equivalent experience with progress toward chartered status)Proven experience in delivering engineering design and consultancy servicesBackground in highly regulated industries (preferably Nuclear; Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Rail experience will be considered)Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and legislation, with experience delivering work packages to clientsExcellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teamsProficiency in MS Office suiteSelf-motivated, able to work on own initiative, and manage time effectivelyNote: This role provides the opportunity to advance technical and professional skills while contributing to complex projects in the industry.Please be advised that offers for this role are conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.UK ImmigrationMott MacDonald Ltd. are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK.
