The Role
As a Senior Pre‑Sales Engineer, you will be a critical part of our sales process, acting as a subject‑matter expert who drives the technical sale and influences purchasing decisions. You will lead strategic presales initiatives, design and demonstrate advanced technical solutions that align with complex business problems. Your expertise in bridging technical complexities with clear business value will guide clients through the sales journey from discovery to implementation. This role demands exceptional communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, and a proven track record of influencing business decisions through impactful technical engagements. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Lead the design, customization, and optimization of technical solutions and frameworks that solve complex customer problems.
- Map technical capabilities to specific business objectives, ensuring the proposed solution delivers tangible value and ROI.
- Deliver compelling and interactive product demonstrations and presentations to diverse audiences, including C‑level executives and technical end‑users.
- Translate complex technical features into clear business benefits, focusing on the customer's perspective and needs.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact, answering complex technical questions and addressing concerns regarding integration, performance, scalability, and security.
- Lead comprehensive discovery calls to deeply understand prospect pain points, goals, processes, budget, authority, need, and timeline using the BANT framework. Research prospects and their companies to gain valuable context ahead of calls.
- Generate tailored technical content, statements of work, architectural solution proposals, and contribute to RFX responses, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client requirements. Leverage AI tools for efficient content generation and proposal drafting.
- Employ a strategic and empathetic approach to address and resolve client concerns (technical, functional, pricing). Utilize active listening, probing questions, and value‑based selling to overcome objections and facilitate successful deal closures.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to define solution objectives, integrate presales insights into product roadmaps, and ensure seamless customer onboarding.
- Proactively explore, evaluate, and integrate AI tools (e.g., Generative AI in Snowflake Cortex) to automate repetitive tasks, improve content generation, summarize calls, answer technical questions, and optimize sales pitches and meeting preparations.
- Ensure ethical and responsible use of AI outputs, verifying accuracy and managing potential hallucinations.
- Mentor and guide junior presales engineers, providing expertise on best practices, methodologies, and tools for solution design and client engagement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the presales team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in presales, AI, and our specific product domain.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

- Relevant Experience:
- 5+ years in presales, sales engineering, solution architecture, or highly technical customer‑facing role.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful technical solutions and achieving sales targets.
- Experience navigating complex sales cycles and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Snow Pro core+, cloud platform certifications).
- Demonstrated project portfolio showcasing solution design, proof‑of‑concept execution, and technical validation.
- Participation in advanced workshops or training focused on presales strategies, emerging technologies, AI/ML, or BI tools.
