Are you an experienced Air Quality Consultant ready to take a significant step in your career? Whether you're a Senior/Principal Consultant looking to shape the future of a growing consultancy, or a Consultant/Senior seeking promotion and greater responsibility, this is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist team with one of the UK’s largest independent air quality consultancies.
About the Role
Based in Manchester, you’ll join a dynamic and expanding team delivering a broad range of air quality services. Projects span from single-source dispersion studies to complex multi-source industrial assessments and large-scale road traffic emission modelling. You’ll work across sectors including land development, industrial compliance, and environmental monitoring.
You’ll lead and deliver air quality, odour, greenhouse gas and indoor/ambient monitoring projects, while playing an active role in project management, client engagement, quality assurance and business growth. This role offers the chance to shape the technical direction of the team and make a real impact on the company's future.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a key figure in the strategic development of the consultancy.
Lead and deliver a diverse range of air quality, dust, odour and GHG assessments.
Conduct dispersion modelling using ADMS for roads and industrial sources.
Design and manage air quality monitoring campaigns.
Prepare high-quality technical reports and Odour/Dust Management Plans.
Provide technical training, mentoring and oversight to junior team members.
Contribute to business development activities and client relationship management.
Review and ensure quality assurance of project deliverables.
Lead on proposal writing, quotations and tender submissions.
Help define and deliver team and company objectives.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum of 5 years’ UK-based consultancy experience in air quality.
Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple projects independently.
Strong technical skills in air quality modelling (ADMS), data analysis and report writing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of methodologies related to road traffic, odour, industrial and dust emissions.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IAQM, IEMA).
Commercial acumen with an interest in business development.
Full UK driving licence (travel across the UK may be required).
Experience in line management, business planning or financial oversight is desirable, but not essential — the key is ambition, initiative, and the willingness to grow into a leadership role.
Why Join Our Client?
Work with one of the most experienced and respected air quality teams in the UK.
Enjoy real autonomy and input into how the business evolves.
Thrive in a positive, collaborative and supportive working culture.
Be part of a company where your voice matters and your career progression is prioritised.

Competitive salary based on experience and level.
Performance-related bonus scheme.
Flexible working arrangements (hybrid & core hours).
Fully funded quarterly social events.
Cycle to work scheme.
Sabbatical leave scheme.
Employee referral rewards.
