Senior Principal Chief Architect – Red Hat’s Field CTO (London Office or UK remote)

This Chief Architect position focuses on the UK and EMEA with global reach as part of Red Hat’s Field CTO organization. Chief Architects engage with technology leaders in enterprise-scale organizations and Red Hat’s ecosystem of partners to explore alignment between business goals and technology use cases, representing Red Hat’s offerings and roadmap in meetings, on stages, and across advisory engagements.

Key responsibilities include synthesizing feedback from engagements into Red Hat’s strategic planning, educating Red Hat’s global field teams on emerging trends, and helping to drive the sales process through broadly defined architectural patterns and enablement materials. The role prioritizes trusted relationships and mutual value over closing sales.

What you will do

  • Represent Red Hat’s strategic message in meetings, Executive Briefing Center sessions, technology communities, media interviews, and public events.
  • Understand and articulate customer and partner business requirements, identify drivers and opportunities for Red Hat, and provide technical and business value guidance aligned with the Red Hat portfolio and partner ecosystem.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to Red Hat’s Technical Sales community in a geographic, industry, or technology area, leveraging architectural patterns to improve sales, support, and engineering efficiencies.
  • Aggregate and document valuable insights from engagements as reusable patterns, including code, configuration, documentation, and enablement in written and video formats.
  • Represent the voice of enterprise customers in Red Hat’s strategic planning, using documented stories to justify proposed investments.
  • Promote Open Source community practices as a collaboration model inside and outside Red Hat.
  • Review complex technical architectures when requested by Solution Architects to validate technical and business aspects of proposed solutions.

What you will bring

  • Hands-on knowledge of Red Hat’s product portfolio in development or production scenarios.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, building relationships based on trust and knowledge sharing.
  • Proven ability to solve meaningful problems using multiple technologies, and to document and communicate solutions for sustainment and reuse.
  • Clear and confident communication in spoken, written, and visual forms, at scales from small executive conversations to large public audiences.
  • Ability to translate functional business requirements across industries into appropriate technologies and practices from Red Hat and its partners.
  • Ability to define and describe complex domain architectures and document them for reuse and deployment in line with GitOps/DevOps practices.
  • Ability to capture and collaborate on reusable architectural patterns in formats such as documentation, slides, diagrams, code, and configurations.
  • Strong understanding of open source and community collaboration models.
  • Act as a technical leader, providing mentorship and continuous organizational improvement.
  • Strong background and extended experience in integrating AI with traditional applications and the infrastructure needed for advanced AI projects.
