About Stora
Stora is a self storage software platform at the forefront of a technology-led revolution in the industry. We empower self storage operators to seamlessly manage their businesses, automate processes, and drive revenue growth. In just over 4 years, we’ve helped hundreds of operators around the world process tens-of-millions in automated payments. Known as innovators in our space, we’re a fast-growing team focused on making self storage better for everyone.
Why this role matters
Stora is growing quickly. We’re releasing new features every month and supporting an increasingly diverse range of storage businesses. As the product grows, so does the need for thoughtful design—interfaces that feel simple, flexible, and scalable.
This role is about leading design work across the product, collaborating closely with engineering and product, and helping shape our approach to UX as we scale. You’ll help us keep the product cohesive, consistent, and grounded in the real-world needs of our operators.
We value speed, clarity, and practical design that’s backed by real usage. Many of us already use AI tools in our day-to-day work, and we welcome designers who do the same in considered, effective ways.
What you’ll do
Own end-to-end design projects: From early discovery to final delivery, including user flows, wireframes, visual design, and developer-ready handoff.
Work cross-functionally: Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and support teams to align on problems and build practical, elegant solutions.
Design for scale: Evolve our design system to support a growing product while keeping things cohesive and efficient.
Talk to customers: Participate in customer calls, validate design decisions, and learn from real usage and feedback.
Support the wider team: Participate in design reviews, contribute to feedback culture, and help mentor other designers as we grow.
What you’ll bring
Versatility: Comfortable working across the full design stack, from initial concepts to prototyping and testing, and wearing multiple hats as needed.
Customer focus: A curiosity about how well designs perform in the real world, and an eagerness to speak with customers to inform and improve design decisions.
Systems thinking: The ability to create scalable design solutions, aligning with our ambition to continually release new products and features.
Growth mindset: Strong opinions on design and product development, and openness to feedback and continuous improvement.
Prototyping: Proficiency in HTML and CSS for prototyping.
AI curiosity: You’re thoughtful in your use of tools—including AI—and know when speed helps, and when it doesn’t.
Preferred experience
6+ years as a product designer with a proven record of designing and delivering web or mobile applications. Ideally in a startup or agile environment, where adapting to change is the norm.
