Siemens are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer BMS (Building Management Systems) to join our Solutions team within Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings division. The project engineer will be required to lead a small team of engineers to deliver the project engineering activities as required. Co-ordination with Project Managers will be a large part of the job, ensuring the engineering activities are understood by the project team and are scheduled accordingly. The project engineer should fully understand the design and engineering requirements of building control systems for a varied range of building complexity, size, and type. Candidates will need a thorough understanding of both mechanical and electrical building systems and ability to work autonomously.

This role can be based anywhere in UK, with regular travel to client sites and our offices as required.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

• Leading a small team of commissioning engineers.

• Co-ordinating the design and commissioning teams, ensuring engineering activities are aligned between the 2 teams.

• Supporting the project manager on site project engineering activities.

• Scheduling commissioning engineer activities.

Skills and experience required:

• A detailed understanding of building systems and the BMS aspects of network infrastructure.

• Experienced in BMS/control system design, software configuration, graphic generation, panel design/production, installation, and commissioning.

• Minimum HNC qualified in a relevant field.

• Significant industry experience in control and automation at an engineer level with HVAC system knowledge.

• Experience leading and mentoring teams.

• Interpretation of client specifications into scope packages.

• Experience in coordinating BMS sub-disciplines with external suppliers and subcontract companies.

• Demonstrated complex problem-solving skills.

• A self-starter and strong team player, flexible and able to work effectively without close supervision.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop excellent customer/supplier working relationships.

• Experienced carrying out pre-sales’ technical surveys.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and ensure proper up-to-date and detailed technical records are kept and produce Project O&M Manuals.

• Preferably have knowledge of leading manufacturers’ equipment/systems i.e. Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, etc.

• Knowledge of building codes and standards

• Proficiency in MS Office applications
