Senior Python Developer (remote-only, Europe) – This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Python Developer in Europe. In this role, you will be part of a highly skilled Web Protection team building advanced solutions that safeguard servers and applications against evolving cyber threats. You will design and optimize scalable backend systems, work on Linux internals and networking, and contribute to data-intensive applications. This role offers the opportunity to shape the architecture of mission-critical software used globally and to collaborate with experienced engineers in a fully remote and flexible environment.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing scalable, production-grade Python applications
• Working on system-level programming tasks, including Linux internals and networking
• Building, optimizing, and maintaining SQL queries for large-scale data processing
• Refactoring and architecting existing codebases for performance and maintainability
• Writing and maintaining unit and functional tests to ensure software reliability
• Creating and updating technical documentation for new and existing features
• Reviewing code written by peers and contributing to best practices in development

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience with production systems
• Strong SQL expertise, including writing and optimizing complex queries
• Experience with Linux internals, networking, and system programming
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD systems
• English proficiency at an intermediate level or higher
• Nice to have: Security knowledge (WAFs, ModSec rules, regex, web application firewalls)
