Wood is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to support our growing workload within the Commercial area of our Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd entity. We are a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, committed to net zero 2050 goals with a secured workstream for years to come.

The role can be site-based, hybrid, or remote with travel considerations. Ideal candidates are those with experience in civils, infrastructure, or construction, comfortable working as the Principal Contractor, and familiar with managing cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting. The role involves managing client and subcontractor relationships, with potential for future progression into further Scotland-based transmission and distribution projects. Flexibility, collaboration via MS Teams, and travel across Scotland are essential.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial support for financial and contractual matters related to our client project. Responsibilities include post-award contract administration, delivering commercial and contractual outputs, implementing project plans, conducting cost analysis, preparing cashflow forecasts, developing subcontracting strategies, and supporting internal project reviews and forecasts. You will handle projects from construction start-up through execution, ensuring performance within budgets and identifying entitlement issues.
