This is more than just a development role — it's an opportunity to influence architecture and shape the direction of our mobile platform as we move into the App space.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Tech Lead, provide technical leadership alongside hands-on development expertise. Design scalable architecture, promote best practices, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams to deliver seamless mobile experiences.Own critical parts of the codebase, solve complex technical challenges, and actively support the growth of less experienced engineers.Influence decisions aligned with the technical roadmap and platform; clearly explain decisions to the wider team (technical and non-technical).QualificationsExperienced in mobile development, specifically in React Native and cross-platform developmentExpertise in TypeScript with advanced type patterns, generics, and type-safe development practicesKnowledge of state management, including Redux Toolkit, Redux Saga, and Zustand for complex application stateCross-platform understanding of iOS and Android platform differences, native modules, and device compatibilityStrong testing background using Jest, React Native Testing Library, test-driven development, and maintaining high code coverageProven debugging skills with React Native profiling tools, Sentry crash reporting, and performance optimization techniquesREST API integration expertise using Axios, authentication handling, error management, and data transformationDevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, app store deployments, Expo development, and Firebase integrationExcellent collaboration, communication, and mentorship skills for working with cross-functional teams and guiding junior developersWhat’s In It For YouThe expected range for this role is £55,000 - £67,000This is a Remote based rolePlus more great perks, including uncapped leave, profit sharing when targets are met, referral rewards, wellbeing support, and share incentive plansAbout FutureFuture is the global leader in specialist media.
