The team

You’ll join our Business and Market Development team, which leads on shaping new opportunities and partnerships to accelerate the UK’s journey to net zero. We work closely with Government, local authorities, businesses and communities to design and deliver programmes that make a measurable impact.

This is a collaborative and ambitious team, bringing together expertise in energy efficiency, renewable energy and market development. As part of the team, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our retrofit capability and shaping how we scale delivery across the UK.

The role

You’ll act as a subject matter expert, supporting major retrofit bids and projects and consultancy assignments. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise, commercial thinking and partnership building to deliver impact at scale.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the development of scalable retrofit delivery models and commercial service propositions aligned with our strategy and net zero objectives.
  • Support competitive bids and consultancy projects by providing expert input on retrofit design and delivery.
  • Build and manage partnerships with delivery agents, funders, supply chain partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop internal frameworks, processes and toolkits to ensure high-quality, consistent retrofit delivery.
  • Act as a consultant and retrofit coordinator on projects, working with clients to map decarbonisation pathways and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Represent Energy Saving Trust externally at events and industry meetings, providing thought leadership on retrofit strategy.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in retrofit coordination or programme delivery, with a deep understanding of quality standards and their application in large-scale domestic retrofit.
  • Demonstrated ability to design or optimise commercial models or service propositions in the net zero, energy efficiency or built environment sectors.
  • A track record of building and managing partnerships with stakeholders across the retrofit ecosystem.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK retrofit policy, funding mechanisms and supply chains.
  • Experience in consultancy or client-facing project delivery, with the ability to scope, lead and deliver impactful programmes.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
