The Role

Purpose of the role

As a Sales Development Representative you will be the tip of the spear of our sales pipeline - proactively identifying and reaching out to construction teams who can benefit from our platform, setting up demos, and building strong relationships that drive our growth. You’ll play a key role in understanding industry challenges, tailoring outreach to the right teams, and making sure every conversation adds value. Beyond opening doors, you’ll help set up processes that will allow us to scale our outreach across US and UK (depending on which market you’ll be supporting).

You’ll be part of our Growth team, working closely with sales, marketing, and product experts. Together, we tell Shape’s story to the world and build connections with those who haven’t yet experienced how game‑changing our platform is.

Your Top 4 Responsibilities

  • Open doors: You will proactively identify and reach out to construction teams, introducing them to Shape and setting up demos that showcase how our product can transform their projects. You must be very comfortable and confident doing cold calls – indeed you must love it!
  • Refine our outreach strategy: Using data and insights, you’ll continuously improve our approach, experimenting with messaging, channels, and engagement tactics to maximize impact.
  • Collaborate with the team: You’ll work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align efforts, share feedback, and ensure we’re reaching the right people in the right way.
  • Grow yourself and others: We’re big on learning and development. You’ll have the opportunity to sharpen your sales skills, share best practices, and contribute to building a world‑class growth function.
  • Shape how we scale: Bring your experience building outreach processes and systems to help us refine our SDR engine as we scale.

Your Capabilities

  • Mastery: Experience in B2B sales, ideally in SaaS, construction tech, or digital solutions. You understand how to engage decision‑makers and guide them through a sales process.
  • Communication: A confident and engaging communicator. You know how to make complex ideas simple and compelling. You’re comfortable talking to both hands‑on construction teams and senior business leaders, and you build relationships through a humanistic, empathetic approach – because our customers aren’t just numbers!
  • Leadership: You take ownership. You’re unafraid of rejection, don’t take “no” as the end of the conversation, and you enjoy experimenting with new ways to connect and add value.
  • Impact: You can read between the lines, spot opportunities, and adapt your approach based on what’s working. You don’t just book meetings – you open doors.

  • Mastery: If you’re not an expert in construction tech yet, you will be! We’ll give you the tools and knowledge to speak the industry’s language.
