We are proud to be recruiting for a global software company with lovely offices in Central London and West Sussex who are looking for an experienced Senior Software Delivery Manager with a background in Financial Services and experience managing off-shore development resources to work on a hybrid basis - in office and remote in either their London or West Sussex offices.

We are looking for a Senior Delivery Manager to work on multiple client facing software development projects for their software platform which has been a market leader for many years. You will be managing the software delivery of development teams based in the UK and off-shore in this role.

You will need to have the following core experience for this role:

  • Delivering large scale software projects for customers, ideally working for a consultancy or software house.
  • Financial services and finance software / fintech experience
  • Managed off shore software development teams
  • Strong client stakeholder management and customer relationship development experience

As a Senior Software Delivery Manager you will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful execution of software projects from start to finish, managing a small number of development projects while working heavily with clients to ensure the successful delivery of these projects to time and to budget. Strong client stakeholder management skills is vital in this role.

Role responsibilities

To guide the project team and coordinate efforts across departments for multiple projects. Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resources. Oversee day-to-day project operations and ensure tasks are progressing.

Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, both internal and external, ensuring transparency and alignment. Proactive in the approach and dedication to building relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for successful software project delivery.
  • Produce and maintain clear project schedules.
  • Manage development resources based in UK and off-shore.
  • Implement risk, issue and change management processes, engage appropriate stakeholders to ensure effective ownership and action as required. Actively manage and escalate, where required, in a timely manner.
  • Deliver comprehensive progress reports, providing project visibility to the Executive Sponsor, Project Board and Customer.
  • Organise regular project reviews and ensure that praise is given and lessons are learned and the necessary changes made to aid continual improvement.
  • Identify the optimal resource requirements set against business needs and the project plan. Ensure the right balance of skills and capabilities are maintained to achieve project objectives. Manage resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Agree the project quality standards and processes with the customer and other stakeholders. Ensure the processes are followed and that the outputs and services meet or exceed the defined standards.
  • Identify key stakeholders by relative impact and influence on the project and ensure communications are managed with them effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and manage relationships and dependencies across the project team, the client, partners and suppliers.
  • Clearly identify and communication of supplier/partner deliverables, managing associated contracts and taking appropriate action to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Deliver the project in accordance with the terms of the contract, seeking guidance from legal where appropriate in consultation with the Client Success Managers.
  • Identify, escalate and support the management of contractual issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Create a trusting team environment where there is open communication, the team is clear on their individual and collective responsibilities and are fully engaged and supported as necessary.
  • Ensure knowledge and lessons learned are captured, shared and implemented. Build an innovative learning environment to maximise individual and team capability on the project.
  • Support the Business Development team in developing business growth opportunities.
  • Manage and oversee all testing activities ensuring that the solution is fit for purpose and meets the client's requirements.
  • Make proactive suggestions relating to the improvement of delivery and associated processes.

Person profile:

  • Very strong Project Delivery Experience
  • Extensive experience working on large scale software delivery projects
  • Ability to manage UK based and Off-shore resources, budgets and deliverables on complex software projects
  • Client facing experience – used to dealing with customer stakeholders on projects
  • FinTech or Financial Services background is important
  • Highly organised and methodical
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent PM certifications and experience
  • Strong Project Management, project planning and client project delivery experience
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Commercial experience of Waterfall and Agile Software Development methodologies
  • The Senior PM will need to be used to making big decisions, resilient, and able to prioritise delivery while looking for operating efficiently.

In summary, you’re the bridge between project vision and successful implementation, working closely with Clients and your Software Development team to ensure smooth collaboration, efficient resource utilisation, and high-quality deliverables.
