Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Graph) – EMEA
As a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Graph technologies, you will design, develop, and maintain the core backend systems that power sophisticated data access and analytics platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions that enable actionable insights and secure identity management. Your work will influence both internal operations and customer-facing products, ensuring reliability, compliance, and technical excellence. Accountabilities
Design, implement, and maintain backend features and services supporting complex Graph data structures and analytics
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and security specialists to develop features that meet business objectives and technical requirements
Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of APIs and backend services
Implement monitoring, logging, and auditing tools to ensure system observability and compliance
Conduct code and design reviews, refactor legacy systems, and continuously improve backend architecture
Stay current with emerging technologies, applying new approaches to enhance the platform's functionality and efficiency
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of professional backend development experience with strong expertise in data modeling, relational and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j)
Deep understanding of graph algorithms, relational algebra, and distributed system design
Proven experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservice architectures
Proficiency in modern backend languages such as Golang or Kotlin
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to mentor junior engineers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to diverse audiences
