Senior Software Engineer - Remote
New Today
Overview
We’re building a platform and tools to revolutionise how manufacturers monitor and comply with chemical regulations using AI. Competitive salary + meaningful equity options (founding-level impact). Remote-first (UK/Ireland) with quarterly in-person off-sites.
Who you are
- Senior product engineer. You ship real features end-to-end and think in user problems and outcomes, not just tickets.
- Next.js + TypeScript first. Comfortable across server components, API routes, edge/runtime trade-offs, performance, and accessibility.
- Bun/Node savvy. You’re happy adopting Bun for speed and tooling, and you know your way around modern JS build/test ecosystems.
- Python when it fits. Pragmatic using Python for data/ETL/AI tooling and glue—comfortable hopping between TS and py.
- Data & realtime. You model data, handle migrations, and build responsive, realtime experiences (or you can get there fast). Currently we’re leveraging Convex for managed data needs.
- Cloud-native. Confident with AWS fundamentals (IAM, networking basics, storage, queues) and Vercel for fast, reliable delivery.
- Infra as code. You’ve used Terraform to stand up and evolve environments safely; you value observability and least-privilege by default.
- Quality at speed. You keep changes small, write tests proportionate to risk (unit/integration/e2e), and measure what matters (latency, errors, costs).
- AI-native mindset. You’re comfortable using and evaluating AI assistants in your workflow and aren’t afraid of prompts, retrieval, or evals when it helps users.
- Strong collaborator. Clear communicator, thoughtful reviewer, light docs/ADRs when needed; you pair often and as an instinct not just sometimes.
- Owner’s mindset. You make good trade-offs, tidy the campsite, and are willing to support what you ship (sensible, humane on-call).
- Location. Based in the UK or Ireland with the right to work.
In our current tech stack you can expect to find: Next.js, TypeScript, Bun, Python, Terraform, AWS, Vercel, Convex.
