We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Developer (~10 years’ experience) who thrives in architecting scalable systems and leading by example. You’ll work across Node.js microservices hosted in AWS, contributing to both technical delivery and the strategic direction of our technology stack.

Products range from a trusted email communications platform to robust news and educational web pages with world‑class sponsored pharmaceutical content and user‑generated content. Our mission is to continually improve these offerings and identify new ways to support doctors throughout their careers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and actively contribute to the development of web/mobile applications in an agile environment.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence, making informed decisions and knowing when to seek input or elevate issues.
  • Take full ownership of project delivery from design to production, ensuring quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of accountability for the systems you build and influence.
  • Contribute to strategy and architectural decisions that support the growth of our services alongside other senior team members.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Own the system‑wide understanding and advocate knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Continuously improve system robustness, performance, and security.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in full‑stack JavaScript/TypeScript development utilizing Node.js.
  • Strong experience with front‑end web development technologies such as ReactJS, VueJS, Angular.
  • Experience with mobile app development using React Native.
  • Deep understanding of security, scalability, and non‑functional testing.
  • Keeps informed of the latest technologies and incorporates them into existing systems when appropriate.
  • Experience designing and developing applications using databases such as Postgres, MS SQL Server.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers with technical queries and best practices.
  • Skilled in AWS (ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, etc.) or similar cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated and delivery focused.
  • Strong understanding of Agile processes.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with ReactJS component libraries.
  • Experience building CI/CD frameworks and build pipelines.
  • Experience using IaC tools such as Terraform or CDK.
  • Experience with .NET.
  • Experience building ELT data pipelines.
  • Experience building AI tools and leveraging LLMs.

Work Location

  • Hybrid work environment; 1‑2 days a month in office.
  • Located in Milton Park, just south of Oxford and close to Didcot Parkway.
