Head of People at Field Seymour Parkes LLP position in Reading, England, United Kingdom. We’re growing our Dispute Resolution Team and are looking for a talented solicitor with strong litigation experience to join us — either as a future partner or someone ready to step into that role now. This is a key hire as part of succession planning within a well-established and highly regarded team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a broad mix of disputes, which may include: shareholder and boardroom disputes; commercial contract claims; insolvency litigation; breach of warranty claims; post-termination restrictions; IP and cross-border disputes; and international arbitration.
• Collaborate on larger matters and take ownership of your own caseload, with the opportunity to develop your practice and client base further.

What You'll Need

• 4+ years’ PQE with a solid track record in commercial litigation
• Hard-working, commercially-minded, and solution-focused
• Able to handle complex and high-value litigation appropriate to your experience level
• Capable of working independently and mentoring others
• Willingness to engage in peer-to-peer discussions with senior colleagues
• A network of clients or referrers — or a proven track record in winning work

We advise a mix of large multinationals and ambitious SMEs. Publicly named clients include Volvo, Honda, ITA, Whistl, HR Wallingford, and SPP Pumps.

Recent Work Highlights

• Acting for a former director in a $450m+ fiduciary duty dispute with administrators
• Professional negligence claim in the energy sector (~£1m)
• High-stakes contractual claim and counterclaim in the defence sector
• Cross-border dispute relating to breach of a JV agreement (~£66m claim)
