Senior Support Engineer is needed for a commodities & energy trading firm, covering both physical & derivative trading. With their continued growth and onboarding new products, in line with new regulatory changes, they need a First Line Support Engineer to work on delivering high-quality customer service, managing technical support for IT systems, and coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

As a Senior Support Engineer, you will act as the first point of contact for desk-site and walk-up support. This role requires priorities to be based on user role and business impact, ensuring high responsiveness for critical users. You will manage all aspects of the company's IT support, including working within the Support Team, handling support tickets from accurate logging to closure, escalating tickets when necessary, and ensuring timely resolution.

This Senior Support Engineer role is -

Paying up to £350/day Inside IR35

4 Days in Office

Based in LDN

Demonstrable knowledge of Active Directory, Azure, Intune, cloud-based back-office systems, C9 Dealer Boards (intercom communications).

Responsibilities of this Senior Support Engineer include working in close collaboration with front, middle and back office across all asset classes. The Scope for this role includes all systems and processes covering the elements of end user computing within the business. Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to end-users in a trading environment, covering desktop, telephony, network, server, electronic trading, and market data technology at MBCL.

As a Senior Support Engineer working within this Energy Trading Firm, you will gain experience within this heavily regulated environment. Develop your pro-active approach to problem-solving, as well as building a strong sense of responsibility when under pressure in high-urgency situations.

The Key Skills required for this Senior Support Engineer -

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
• Experience in desktop or technical support roles, preferably within a fast-paced or trading floor environment.
• Champion a high-quality, user-focused support experience—adapting communication, prioritisation, and problem-solving to meet the needs of each user.
• Experience supporting high-pressure environments, including Traders, Executives, and Business-critical staff.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting trading-specific software and platforms, such as Bloomberg Terminal and Reuters Trading for Exchanges.

The Key Technology Knowledge required for this Senior Support Engineer -

• Possess a strong understanding of email and messaging applications (Exchange, O365, Mimecast).
• Show proficiency in Microsoft desktop technologies, including Windows 10/11, O365, Teams, etc.
• Understand PC imaging processes and software installations (SCCM, InTune)
• Manage desktop hardware and peripherals in a trade floor environment (Dell, HPE, Lenovo).
