We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Sustainable Design Consultant to join our expanding sustainable design team at Tetra Tech. We are seeking candidates nationally, preferably from Manchester, Leicester, London, or Leeds, but are open to flexible working arrangements in line with our hybrid policy. Our portfolio includes clients across sectors such as property, education, defence, and government services. About you:

We seek an experienced senior consultant with a strong track record to contribute to significant and complex projects across various sectors. You will work autonomously and proactively, ensuring project success. You will collaborate closely with senior management and have opportunities for growth. Your responsibilities include owning key project workstreams, leading workshops, managing and mentoring junior team members, and engaging with clients to deliver projects within timelines and budgets. You should possess adept critical thinking skills and be capable of working independently, with occasional travel and flexible hours. This role offers exposure to innovative initiatives and a clear career progression pathway within our structured Competency Framework.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Conduct analyses related to energy and carbon modelling, including Part L thermal modelling, operational energy calculations, overheating, and thermal comfort assessments.
  2. Lead client and design team workshops, ensuring clear communication.
  3. Develop sustainable design strategies and energy/sustainability statements for planning applications.
  4. Take ownership of and deliver key project workstreams.
  5. Collaborate on R&D initiatives to stay industry-leading.
  6. Support the training and development of junior team members.
