We’re building the future of data at Virgin Media O2, and we’re looking for a Senior Technical Data Solution Designer to join our team. This is a senior hands-on role where you’ll design and deliver scalable data products, act as the technical authority in your squad, and mentor others to raise the bar on technical excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build end-to-end data solutions that turn business needs into trusted insights.
• Develop complex dbt models, SQL transformations, and Tableau dashboards.
• Guide and mentor BI Specialists and Analytics Engineers.
• Ensure high standards of data governance, quality, and documentation.
• Drive technical delivery within an Agile squad (sprints, ceremonies, Jira).

Qualifications

Must haves

• Advanced SQL and dbt (or equivalent) expertise.
• Strong grasp of data engineering principles and pipelines.
• Proven skills in data visualisation and dashboard design (ideally Tableau).
• Strong understanding of data architecture, modelling, and integration.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams using tools like Jira.

The other stuff we are looking for

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud environments.
• Familiarity with data governance and cataloguing tools (e.g. Atlan, Collibra).
• Experience leading technical delivery or mentoring a squad/team.
