Hutcheon Mearns is looking for a Senior Tender Estimator for an international business with a strong UK presence. The business focuses on sustainability, reducing carbon footprint and costs for its customers.

The Opportunity

As a Tender Estimator you will be a key member of the Finance Department and support the Commercial Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates in accordance with standard company and client requirements
  • Develop commercial qualifications in support of tenders to minimise risk & maximise opportunities
  • Deliver tender documentation and investment analysis for commercial decision making
  • Review, evaluate and complete client‑provided Commercial/Remuneration Exhibits
  • Produce Cost Plans and Cash Flow Forecasts for applicable tenders
  • Provide input to CRM system in the form of costing and selling price for ongoing tenders
  • Organise and run relevant cost review meetings during the tender period
  • Provide and present cost/pricing basis at Tender boards
  • Support in developing project risks & opportunities at tender stage
  • Provide costing support and monitor cost impacts during bid clarifications and negotiation meetings
  • Gather experience figures and maintain the Benchmark Database
  • Conduct handover with project team and follow up/support during project execution to ensure feedback & capture lessons learned

Background and Experience

  • Experience delivering Tender Estimates on various types (PS, LS, TCE) and sizes of projects
  • Advanced MS Excel competence is essential
  • Degree in Finance or Business Studies preferable
  • Subsea experience beneficial
  • Experience/background from project controls an advantage
  • Demonstrated financial competence and commercial/contractual knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Deliver high quality outcomes in a dynamic fast‑paced environment
  • Self‑motivated with a can‑do attitude
  • Commercial and contractual mindset
  • Good communication and organisational skills
