Overview
Senior WordPress Developer – Contract with a view to permanent in April 2026. Fully remote (UK-based) with Outside IR35. Role involves leading custom theme and plugin development, guiding a small team on best practices, and owning deployments from QA through to launch. Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other CMS platforms is a bonus.
What you’ll do
- Lead WordPress development across themes, plugins, and custom functionality.
- Act as a senior figure in the team, mentoring and reviewing code as needed.
- Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and optimised for performance.
- Take responsibility for QA, testing, and smooth releases.
- Apply technical SEO and CRO best practices to improve site performance.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Senior WordPress Developer or Technical Lead.
- Solid understanding of SEO, Core Web Vitals, and site optimisation.
- Experience setting technical standards and making independent decisions.
- Git workflow expertise and confidence in release management.
- Bonus: exposure to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other CMS platforms.
