Mimica's process intelligence highlights inefficiencies, prioritizes improvements based on ROI, recommends the optimal technology for automation (RPA, intelligent document processing, GenAI), and provides a blueprint for building new automations and transforming work.What you will ownIn this role, you will support the backend of a new product - the Mimica Maker. This will be a product that allows users to build and orchestrate bots from the data we record.You will build pipelines and core components of our ML systems, deliver new AI features and drive improvements to our infrastructure and services.As a founding member of the Maker Team, you\'ll have the opportunity to shape our technical direction, architecture, processes and culture.Part of your day-to-dayWorking with Machine Learning Engineers to build the Backend of our Computer Use Tool, and bringing it to production by building and supporting ML-driven applications.Develop integrations and services that communicate between different backend components.Furthering Developer Experience (DevEx) by mentoring others in writing code that is intuitive, clear, and easy to testDeveloping observability for new and existing ML applications and GenAI/LLM integrations, making use of the Grafana Stack (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo)Working closely with Data Scientists and ML Engineers throughout the lifecycle of productionising their modelsBeing responsive to incidents regarding ML applications - including an understanding of how to triage and resolve issues relating to CPU, memory, and GPU utilisationDocumenting procedures and guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and help other engineers level up through pairing and mentoringParticipating in hiring and onboarding new team members; taking on end-to-end project management responsibilities as we grow.RequirementsStrong proficiency with Python, Backend-Engineering and knowledge and hands-on working with GenAI modelsBackground in solving complex technical challenges at the intersection of Software Development and Data/ML EngineeringFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure, ops and containerised tools like Kubernetes, Docker or others.Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data collection tools, caching/storage systems, queues and pipelinesKnowledge of best practices for performance optimisation, memory management and observability.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - methodically decomposing systems to identify bottlenecks, determine root causes, and implement effective solutionsDrive to continually develop your skills, improve team processes and reduce technical debt.Fluency in English and ability to effectively communicate abstract ideas, complex concepts and trade-offsNice to haveHaving been a founding/early member of an Engineering teamExperience working within a fast-growing Scale-up environment - delivering value quickly and iterativelyExperience owning projects from start to finish, including speccing, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release and monitoringKnowledge of Rust or other low-level languagesLocationThis is a fully remote position.
