Service Delivery Manager – Asbestos | Nationwide

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Delivery Manager to join our Asbestos team, where you’ll play a key role in driving the success of our business. As SOCOTEC continues to grow, our Environment & Safety Division is expanding, and we’re looking for a dedicated professional to join us and wear the badge with pride.
In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind efficient, accurate service delivery—overseeing back-office operations, managing resources across multiple UK offices, and leading a remote support team in Vietnam.

Responsibilities
- Workflow Management: Control and oversee the entire back-office throughput, ensuring a seamless flow of work from lab analysis to final report production and invoicing
- Operational Planning: Develop and execute plans to manage daily operations, including the allocation of resources based on backlogs, bottlenecks, and service level agreements
- Resource Management: Monitor and allocate resources (personnel, equipment) across five UK office locations and a remote CAD team in SOCOTEC Vietnam to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines
- Team Management & Development: Provide direct line management to appointed business schedulers
- Performance Monitoring: Track, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify inefficiencies and implement new processes or technologies to improve speed, accuracy, and overall service delivery
- Invoicing and Financial Oversight: Work closely with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing based on completed projects
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and manage these effectively
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a service delivery, operations, or project management role, preferably within a technical or consulting environment
- Strong understanding of workflow management and operational efficiency principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Experience in managing multi-site and remote/international teams
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with project management and data analysis software
- Knowledge of the asbestos industry or a similar regulated field is a plus
- A full UK driving licence & willingness to travel
About Asbestos
The SOCOTEC Asbestos team holds UKAS accreditation for both Inspection and Testing and is one of the leading asbestos consultancies in the UK. We provide all aspects of asbestos consultancy services, ensuring clients are better equipped to comply with current legislation. These services include surveying, lab analysis of samples, managing removal projects on the clients’ behalf, consultancy, policy reviews, and action plans and Training. We operate out of six offices covering all areas of the UK, and assist more than 300 clients on a variety of projects, from offices to military bases to hospitals. The work our Asbestos team does is vital in preventing workers from exposure to asbestos fibres, and that all of our clients operate within the asbestos regulations, and wider health and safety framework.
