Location: Hertfordshire (with extensive travel across London sites)
Salary: 65,000 - 70,000 + Car Allowance
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established fit-out and refurbishment contractor that is seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a health and safety professional to take ownership of SHEQ across a variety of exciting projects in commercial, residential, and healthcare sectors.
As SHEQ Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the company's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards across multiple sites. You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with ISO standards, supporting project teams, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update Management System Documents in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001
- Review and revise policies, procedures, and site documentation (RAMS)
- Support the development of HSEQ plans and contribute to business strategy
- Conduct risk assessments and implement practical, cost-effective control measures
- Produce monthly reports for Directors and lead staff briefings, training, and internal communications
- Manage the Health and Safety Training Matrix and ensure staff competency
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits
- Ensure project documentation is complete and up to date
- Liaise with clients and produce Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans (CPHSPs)
- Travel regularly to sites across London (some overnight stays may be required)
- Assist with PQQs and tender submissions
- Deliver Toolbox Talks and on-site safety briefings
- Drive continuous improvement across all SHEQ systems and processes
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a SHEQ role within fit-out, build, construction, commercial, residential, or healthcare projects
- Strong working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to travel regularly
