In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), delivering deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of clients worldwide. Our delivery centers provide locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Public Sector Solutions Architect with the IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), you will design and implement cutting-edge hybrid cloud solutions tailored to the UK Public Sector. You will leverage extensive expertise in cloud technologies and on-premises infrastructure to lead strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, data security, and service delivery for public sector clients. Your influence will drive innovation, foster collaboration, and ensure compliance with government regulations, shaping the digital future of public services.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive hybrid cloud strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry trends
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex hybrid cloud solutions, balancing on-premises and cloud-based components
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define system architecture and ensure seamless integration of hybrid cloud solutions
• Oversee the creation of hybrid cloud strategies, roadmaps, and best practices to drive cloud transformation
• Design detailed architecture diagrams, component models, and technology stacks for hybrid environments
• Ensure secure connectivity solutions and robust data protection measures
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, applying innovative solutions to enhance hybrid cloud capabilities

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions
• Proven ability to create architecture diagrams, component models, and technology stacks for hybrid environments
• Deep understanding of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services
• Familiarity with cloud-native services, serverless computing, and managed services
• Proven track record of designing, managing, and optimizing on-premises infrastructure (virtualization, storage, networking)
• Proficiency in designing and implementing secure connectivity solutions
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Preferred and required experience

• Proven ability to create architecture diagrams, component models, and technology stacks for hybrid environments
• In-depth understanding of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services
• Familiarity with cloud-native services, serverless computing, and managed services
• Extensive experience in designing, managing, and optimizing on-premises infrastructure
• Proficiency with on-premises automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Experience in designing secure connectivity solutions (VPNs, Direct Connect, VPN Gateways)
