Solar PV Electrical Surveyor & Design Engineer

We're seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to conduct surveys and assessments for solar PV installations across commercial sites in the UK. This role suits a qualified electrician with design experience and reporting skills who's ready to step away from the tools and contribute to the growing renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct detailed electrical surveys to assess suitability for solar PV systems
2. Identify defects or issues that could affect system performance
3. Document findings accurately and professionally
4. Prepare electrical Bill of Quantities and Scope of Works
5. Coordinate survey tasks with the technical team and manage priorities
6. Plan and execute survey schedules independently and punctually
7. Use company van for travel to nationwide project sites
8. Compile clear, professional reports using data and images from surveys
9. Review and update job management system records

Requirements

1. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and current regulations
2. Experience identifying defects related to Solar PV installations
3. Self-motivated with excellent planning and time-management skills
4. Proficiency in IT/reporting tools and confident in producing clear documentation
5. Excellent communication skills and team collaboration
6. Clean UK driving licence and 25+ (for insurance purposes)
7. Willing to travel nationwide as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• AM2, 18th Edition, NVQ Level 3, Level 3 Testing & Inspection (2391 or 2394/2395)
• Level 4 Design & Verification (2396), Solar PV Qualification
