Solution Architect - Infrastructure & Delivery

Manchester (1 day in the office every 2 weeks)

£76,877 (DOE) + Excellent Benefits

An experienced Solution Architect is required for our client based in Manchester. The successful candidate will lead the design and delivery of modern infrastructure and cloud solutions that support the organisation's strategic technology goals. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and resilience of digital services. The role isn't just about delivery - it's a true 50/50 blend of hands-on architecture and project delivery, so we're looking for someone with the technical depth and the experience of leading successful infrastructure projects.

Skills required:

• A strong background in infrastructure architecture, ideally across hybrid environments (Azure & on-prem).
• Solid Azure skills - the ideal candidate will be comfortable with some coding and automation (PowerShell, Python, BICEP, GitHub, Octopus Deploy).
• Experience with on-prem technologies (VMware, Exchange, SAN).
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale projects and presenting solutions to senior stakeholders.
• Someone who's worked in well-established organisations - large, structured environments.
• A collaborative personality - someone who brings strong ideas, fresh thinking, and fits well into a team culture.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver secure, scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Define architectural roadmaps aligned with strategic goals.
• Lead project delivery and engage with the Technical Design Authority.
• Collaborate across IT and business teams.
• Mentor and support technical teams.

Desirable:

• Microsoft certifications (Azure Architect, M365 Admin, DevOps Engineer).
• Architecture certifications (TOGAF, BCS).
