This Position reports to: Global Solution Development Leader

Role and responsibilities

  • ABB is searching for a passionate and engaging Solutions Architect to join the team and capitalize on opportunities in offering electrification products to Data Centre customers.
  • You will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABB\'s offerings to Data Centre market segments (mainly Hyperscale accounts) and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle, in line with market needs and division/product group/business line strategy and targets.
  • You will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer, and support business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.
  • The work model for the role is remote in the US (#LI-Remote) with the ability to travel an estimated 10-15%, both domestically and internationally.
  • You will be mainly accountable for engaging with existing and potential customers, consultants and contractors to develop and maintain generic or customer-specific data centre electrification solutions, including assessing commercial viability with respect to competitiveness, delivery lead time and site works requirements.
  • Lead and direct involved ABB and third party stakeholders to ensure that a technically and commercially fit solution fully meets the specific needs of each customer.
  • Review and assess customer project specifications to deliver required electrical solutions, including technical compliance statements, single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, layout and equipment drawings, and relevant equipment specifications.
  • Own technical and market specification for the offer and determine an offering business plan that supports sustainable growth while leading customer need and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following up on portfolio performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical consulting, development, engineering, or commissioning, with in-depth knowledge of Data Centres, their electrification needs, and/or electrical power distribution.
  • ABB Product Portfolio knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lead, guide, and motivate international, remote teams to achieve timely and meaningful results.
  • Ability to travel an estimated 10-15% (both international and domestic).
  • The ideal candidate will be an excellent listener and partner for Data Centre accounts, capable of translating their needs into actionable outcomes.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the United States.
