The role

As a Solutions Architect at Audley Travel, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise‑level robust, scalable solutions for our internal business and client‑facing applications. Your role will ensure that our systems are efficient, integrated, and aligned with our business objectives. You will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to create optimal solution designs, enhancing operational efficiency and user satisfaction.

The salary for this role is up to £90,000 (depending on experience).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Solution Design: Create high‑level application and integration solution designs for internal business and client‑facing applications. Collaborating with internal and external design, development and engineering teams.
  • Integration: Ensure seamless integration of various applications to support business operations and process.
  • Architectural Validation and Design Reviews: Validate that the solution adheres to the approved solution architecture, conduct regular design review sessions within projects to ensure technical / low‑level design and delivery align with solution designs.
  • Collaboration with delivery teams: Support technical architects and lead developers in translating high‑level application and integration solution designs into lower‑level component‑level designs. Facilitate design workshops and walkthroughs to ensure shared understanding and feasibility.
  • Manage design change: lead impact assessments for any proposed design changes during development. Engage stakeholders to evaluate implications on scope, timeline, and budget. Raise and manage change control items, updating architectural documentation and decision records as needed.
  • Architectural Policies: Contribute to and adopt architectural policies, patterns, and standards.
  • Catalog Maintenance: Maintain Architecture Building Blocks and catalogs related to applications and integrations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and raise appropriate risks, maintain a technical debt register, and ensure regular reviews by the Technical Design Authority (TDA).
  • Vendor Management: Assist with technical due diligence for new technology contracts and review existing supplier offerings to align with Audley’s strategic roadmaps.

What we’re looking for:

You will have a strong background in application and solution design within Salesforce and Microsoft Azure along with experience across a range of application domains such as CRM, Travel Reservations, ERP, and Marketing.

  • Proven experience in cloud‑first application architecture and solution design, including segmentation and decoupling of cloud applications through use of middleware.
  • Ability to translate business requirements and processes into effective solution designs.
  • Stakeholder management and influencing with all levels from C‑suite minus one level to operators.
  • Commercial understanding and a track record of driving business innovation through technology.
  • In‑depth knowledge of security by design principles and patterns.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of technology trends.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong technical problem‑solving skills.
  • Pragmatic and collaborative, able to balance strategic goals with tactical decisions when necessary.
