This role offers the opportunity to lead space missions from LEO to GEO and beyond, supporting the full mission lifecycle from bid to end-of-life operations. Responsibilities include managing spacecraft operations work packages, supporting mission development, writing operational procedures, and supporting in-orbit spacecraft operations and troubleshooting. The role involves travel for commissioning and customer support, working with various teams to ensure operational excellence.

**Key Tasks:**

• Manage spacecraft operations work packages for new missions.
• Collaborate with System Engineers to understand and help shape CONOPS.
• Identify and communicate spacecraft operations requirements and constraints.
• Support milestone reviews, spacecraft testing, and produce operational handbooks.
• Define, document, and test operational and commissioning procedures.
• Plan and manage spacecraft commissioning campaigns.
• Support customer engineers and training.
• Monitor and support existing SSTL spacecraft in orbit, including anomaly investigation and health monitoring.
• Support out-of-hours operations and maintain the Spacecraft Operations Centre infrastructure.

**Previous Experience:**

• Experience in Spacecraft Operations or Space Systems Engineering is advantageous.

**Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:**

• Degree in Space Engineering or similar.
• Understanding of space and ground segment systems, orbital mechanics, RF communications.
• Strong team working, communication, and documentation skills.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work autonomously.
• Ability to handle pressure, work under deadlines, and make decisions.
• Flexibility for out-of-hours work and international travel.
• Proficiency with MS Windows and Office tools.
