Specialist Digital Workforce Analyst – Building Digital, Data and Digital Leadership Capabilities Programme at NHS Scotland.
Flexible location throughout Scotland. Full‑time, 37 hours per week, short‑term contract (fixed term/secondment). You will be based remotely but may travel to offices as required.
Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) supports the health and care sector through workforce development, training and digital solutions. The Digitally Enabled Workforce (DEW) team delivers on national priorities such as the Digital Health and Care Strategy, the Health and Social Care Data Strategy and the Care in the Digital Age Delivery Plan. DEW provides learning resources, networks and programmes for NHS, local authorities, social care and other partners to grow digital, data and leadership capabilities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Analyse workforce data and requirements for the national Digital and Data Capability Framework and Self‑Assessment Tool.
- Support organisations in accessing and interpreting framework data and deliver associated analytics.
- Design and conduct surveys and other data capture activities to assess workforce needs.
- Identify gaps in the Building Digital, Data and Digital Leadership programme resources and develop solutions.
- Co‑operate with digital champions groups to promote technology adoption.
- Work closely with Scottish Government and COSLA commissioners to shape national programme priorities.
What You’ll Bring
- Expertise in digital, data and leadership workforce analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and experience translating data into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of user‑needs research, impact measurement and sector‑wide digital initiatives.
- Experience with process mapping, risk assessments and business case development for workforce programmes.
- Proficiency in M365 tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Copilot, Forms, Lists) and ability to automate processes.
- Self‑led learning mindset and enthusiasm for digital tools and innovation.
