Role and Organisation

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland. The Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHP) directorate supports education, training and continuing professional development across a range of staff groups and disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the education, training and continuing professional development of Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) and other staff groups to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care.
  • Develop education and training programmes in partnership with colleagues and stakeholders to increase knowledge and competence.
  • Manage programmes with a focus on quality improvement and innovation in partnership with others.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to develop education and training that makes a real difference.

What We Love To See / Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and experience of using quality improvement methods and approaches.
  • Understanding of the role of Health Care Support Workers and their contribution to holistic care.
  • Honesty, integrity, care and compassion; tact and persuasive communication when needed.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, organise and prioritise workloads, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK throughout the period of employment.
