JOB TITLE: Regional Specification Manager
SITE LOCATION: 60% Field based / 40% home based
AREA:Scotland, North East, North West, Yorkshire
Job Purpose:
The role of Regional Specification Manager is to promote and specify our products and services to local authorities, housing associations, RSLs, contractors, national housebuilders, architects and developers.
Key Responsibilities
- To gain specification with local authorities, housing associations, public bodies, contractors, architects, QS, hospital boards, schools and the MOD
- Liaise with and gain national agreements with housebuilders and developers on specifications.
- Oversee and manage major accounts
- Work in conjunction with the Business Development Managers (BDMs) and their fabricators to ensure clear communication regarding potential contracts
- Prepare drawings for tender (site surveys for design)
- Promote all brands to the highest level through seminars and CPD’s
- To liaise with the marketing department in respect of before and after installation photos, leads, mail-shots, advertising etc.
- To plan the geographical area of responsibility on a methodical basis, maximising the sales potential, especially within highly populated areas
- Ensure wherever possible that PROFILE 22, SPECTUS & STELLAR systems are the only ones specified, gleaning all necessary information on future project timescales and budgets involved where possible
- To provide specifiers with an all-in package, visiting sites, surveying, advising on potential problems, alternative design criteria, writing specifications where required and providing constant back-up on site as well as fabricator visits
- To ensure that PROFILE 22, SPECTUS & STELLAR systems fully comply with specification described in tenders
- Assist fabricators with tenders and pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ)
- Attend local and national exhibitions and follow up leads
Key Experiences and Skills Required:
- Full clean driving licence.
- Experience in specification is not required, training will be provided. We are looking for a candidate that has prior experience within the window industry, either in sales, estimating or design. Someone who IS keen to learn new skills
- Excellent Microsoft office skills including excel, Word, PowerPoint & CRM systems.
- Commercial business awareness with the ability to clearly identify potential opportunities
- Strong organisational skills / Attention to detail.
- Understand the full lifecycle of where our product sits within the marketplace from conception to site.
- Tenacious attitude with a desire to complete all tasks and maximise to their full potential all opportunities as they arise.

- Excellent listening, negotiation, presentation and both verbal and written skills.
