About The Role

We are seeking an experienced PHP Architect or Lead Developer to join our agile and forward-thinking technology team on a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects that power industry-leading e-learning solutions and sophisticated office logistics platforms hosted on AWS. As a key member of our development team, you will be instrumental in shaping the architecture of new features, optimizing existing systems, and mentoring a talented group of developers. Your expertise in modern PHP frameworks such as Symfony and Laravel, combined with your understanding of cloud-native architectures and CI/CD practices, will be crucial in delivering scalable, maintainable, and innovative solutions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in PHP development, with extensive experience in object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and software architecture. Proven expertise with PHP frameworks such as Symfony and Laravel, along with a solid understanding of MVC architecture, is essential. Candidates should have a deep knowledge of relational databases, particularly MySQL, including schema design and query optimization. Proficiency with version control systems like Git, familiarity with the LAMP stack, and experience with REST API integration are required. Additionally, a good grasp of front-end technologies—including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and DOM manipulation—is important. Experience with Docker containerization, unit testing, and functional testing will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications, e-learning portals, and web services using PHP and modern frameworks.
• Implement solid software design patterns and adhere to industry best practices to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Architect and optimize database systems, primarily MySQL, including crafting efficient raw SQL queries for performance enhancement.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable, efficient, and maintainable technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain client and management reporting tools to facilitate data-driven decision making.
• Contribute to the evolution and enhancement of developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS-based infrastructure architectures.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Support a global user base by ensuring high-quality, well-documented, and reliable code deployment.
