Unify Talent UK is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior / Lead Software Developer to join a prestigious consultancy working on a high-profile government program. This is a fully remote, long-term contract opportunity that requires a candidate with active SC clearance. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining complex full-stack applications using Kotlin and TypeScript, with a focus on delivering robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with significant experience in both frontend and backend technologies. Essential qualifications include proven expertise in Kotlin, Spring Boot, and TypeScript. Candidates must have active SC clearance and demonstrate familiarity with government standards and security protocols.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications utilizing Kotlin for backend APIs and TypeScript for frontend UI components.
- Implement user interfaces using Express.js, TypeScript, and Gov department Design System, ensuring seamless integration with backend services.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, integrating with internal and external systems while adhering to security and performance standards.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage applications within AWS cloud infrastructure, utilizing managed platform services.
- Write infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate deployment processes and ensure environment consistency.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar tools to facilitate continuous integration and delivery.
- Adopt best engineering practices such as TDD, automated testing, peer reviews, and pair programming to enhance code quality and team collaboration.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contribute to technical discussions, and share knowledge within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure all development work complies with government security standards, including maintaining valid SC clearance.
This position offers the opportunity to work remotely on a long-term basis within a high-impact government project. The role provides competitive daily rates outside IR35, with the potential for extension and further scope.
