Store Design Manager, FTC – 12 months maternity leave cover

At Costa Coffee, we’re on a mission to reimagine coffee experiences across the globe. From bustling cities to local communities, we’re creating meaningful coffee moments, powered by innovation and driven by purpose.

As a proud part of the Coca-Cola system and working hand in hand with our pioneering partners, we’re in over 50 countries and counting. Whether it's served in-store, from a machine, at home, or on the go, every cup is thoughtfully crafted by our passionate teams who put heart into every moment.

Our teams truly make a difference. Whether it's pioneering new tech for the perfect pour, launching award-winning campaigns, developing exciting new menu items, or supporting our people to grow – together, we stir up success.

We’re looking for an experienced design professional to step into a pivotal maternity cover role shaping the future of Costa Coffee’s UK&I store experience. As the creative lead for new and existing store formats, you’ll bring our brand to life through innovative design, customer-focused layouts, and seamless project delivery. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence how millions experience Costa — from concept to completion — while collaborating with expert teams and trusted partners to deliver spaces that look incredible and perform brilliantly.

We value curiosity, inclusivity, and a problem-solving mindset. If you thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and are excited to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.

With inspiring experiences, development programmes, and our apprenticeship scheme, your career can grow far beyond the day-to-day.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the creation and delivery of innovative, brand-aligned and cost-effective in-store design solutions — from concept visuals to fully realised store environments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners — including design agencies, suppliers and project managers — to bring projects to life across new store openings and refresh programmes.
  • Act as the UK&I Design Ambassador, ensuring consistent application of the Costa brand across all formats while supporting tenders, bids and global brand standards.
  • Use your design expertise and technical skills (AutoCAD, Vectorworks, Adobe Suite) to develop and present compelling design proposals, visuals, storyboards and sample boards to key stakeholders.
  • Champion creativity within budget, visiting stores to brief suppliers, review works and deliver design solutions that balance innovation, practicality and commercial value.

Who you are

  • A proven background in retail or hospitality store design (3+ years), with experience delivering creative, customer-centric spaces across multi-site portfolios.
  • Technically skilled designer, proficient in AutoCAD (Vectorworks and Photoshop desirable), with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to bring concepts to life.
  • Strong commercial and construction awareness, understanding how design influences customer behaviour, operational flow and overall brand experience.
  • Collaborative project leader, confident managing suppliers, agencies and partners while driving results across a complex, matrix organisation through influence and relationship-building.
  • Organised, creative and adaptable, capable of balancing design innovation with practical, cost-effective solutions that meet business and customer needs.

So, why Costa?

  • Own a piece of Costa’s success by becoming a share owner in Coca-Cola with our Share Investment Plan (SIP)
  • An annual discretionary bonus scheme, based on business results and individual contribution.
  • A smart pension that saves you money on tax and national insurance, and matches your contributions up to 10%
  • The Costa Financial Support Fund, supporting team members who find themselves in unexpected financial pressure
  • 50% discount in all Costa-owned stores, and 25% off in other participating stores
  • Private medical cover thanks to our Private Healthcare scheme
