Job Title: Strategic Sales Manager – Freight Forwarding & Supply Chain
Location: National (UK-based) – Remote with travel
Salary: £70,000 – £95,000 per annum + Car Allowance + Uncapped Commission
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Overview:
We are representing a globally recognised logistics and supply chain business with an excellent reputation for quality, innovation, and client service. As part of their strategic growth, they are looking to appoint a Strategic Sales Manager to develop and deliver new business across their full suite of freight and end-to-end supply chain solutions.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, privately owned logistics provider that offers both autonomy and support, with a clear path to progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Design and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives to drive long-term revenue growth.
- Market Analysis: Research and analyse market trends, competitors, and opportunities to inform strategic direction and identify key growth sectors.
- Partnership Development: Build and negotiate high-impact partnerships and key customer relationships that support expansion into new verticals or service lines.
- New Business Generation: Identify and secure new clients requiring integrated freight and supply chain services, with a focus on complex, end-to-end solutions.
- Proposal Development: Create and deliver tailored sales presentations, proposals, and commercial agreements that clearly communicate value propositions.
- Internal Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with operations, finance, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure successful onboarding and delivery.
- Performance Monitoring: Track sales metrics and pipeline development using CRM tools; regularly report progress to senior leadership.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- At least 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales
- Strong commercial background in air, sea, and warehousing/supply chain services
- Proven ability to generate new business and manage large/strategic accounts
- A consultative approach to solution selling and customer engagement
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
