This is a rare opportunity to influence how we attract, retain and develop our workforce. You will play a vital role in aligning people planning with corporate priorities, driving innovation, and championing inclusive talent strategies.

What you'll be doing

As a senior member of the HR leadership team, you will:
Develop and deliver a data-driven workforce strategy that meets the Council's long-term needs
Collaborate across departments to embed workforce planning into service redesign and business planning
Lead strategic resourcing approaches for key roles, future skills and hard-to-fill areas
Drive internal talent mobility, succession planning and make the most of our apprenticeship levy
Champion inclusive recruitment and strengthen our employer brand
Oversee the management of our contingent workforce contract and promote cost-effective resourcing solutions

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who:
Brings experience in leading workforce strategy in a complex organisation
Uses data and analytics to drive smarter decisions and improve workforce resilience
Is confident in influencing and collaborating with senior leaders
Has a track record of delivering inclusive and impactful recruitment and talent initiatives
Is passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion in public services
Holds a CIPD qualification or equivalent
